Mark 1 : 21,22

21 “They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. 22The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. ”

The Greek word “amazed” is from the word “strike”meaning they were “knocked over” “stunned”  and”TKOed” by the doctrine of Jesus. This is the difference between the real Gospel, and the “no Gospel at all”. The real Gospel will make you run to, or run from Jesus.  Surrender or retreat. The real Gospel will knock you down, then pick you up. Stun you, to bring you to your senses.

This is the difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge. Many “theologians” have head knowledge, the knowledge that leads to being “puffed up”. However, when we are truly taught by the Lord He knocks us on our backside. When is the last time we have been taught like that? I am not talking about a tidbit about the Bible, or a must see message from the celebrity Pastor. I am talking about a life changing lesson from the Lord.  Its stunning, life changing, and we dont soon forget it. Bless God.
